Craft
Studio classes and workshops differ from academic classes in a few
important ways. First, they are deliberately kept small (3-9 students
max) in order to maximize individual attention. Second, they are designed
to teach techniques and let students practice that new skill with
the instructor available for guidance and advice. Third, the classes
focus on a specific topic, but are not bound by a syllabus. Instead,
the instructors modify their teaching styles and curriculum to suit
the needs of each group and the students’ individual needs.
And finally, the instructors are primarily local crafters and artisans
who have a passion and talent for their particular subject and a dedication
to sharing their knowledge with others.
