The Craft Studio is a recreational art facility that provides space, tools, and instruction to help you explore your creativity, learn new skills, and socialize with other crafters. We offer a wide variety of classes and workshops to fit almost any schedule, budget, and craft interest. Our studio space is furnished with hundreds of tools and open to members to work on independent projects.

The Craft Studio will be open during winter break, but with reduced hours. We will be closed on the following dates: December 24, 25, 26, and 28, January 1, 2, 4, 11, 18, and 19. Monday through Friday we will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from noon - 6:00 p.m. Regular Hours will resume on January 20. We will be open posted hours, weather permitting. Please feel free to call in advance.

The moment you've all been waiting for has finally arrived. We are excited to announce our spring lineup of classes and workshops. You can download the Spring 2009 Course Schedule now, but classes and workshops will not go on sale until January 20. There are over 60 classes and workshops this semester, enough to satisfy almost any crafty need. Remember, you must register in advance for all classes and workshops, even the Free Crafternoons.

In honor of Women's History Month, the Craft Studio will be hosting the 16th Annual Women in the Arts Show in March, so get your artwork ready. Women artists in Missouri are invited to submit their work to this annual juried show and help us celebrate the myriad of talented women in the arts. You can download the submission guidelines and entry form here. Please remember, the deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. on February 26. In light of the tough economic times ahead, we want to provide more free workshops for MU students, faculty, staff and the public, but we need your help. If you are in possession of art, craft, and some random supplies that you were planning on throwing away or are never really going to use yourself, you can now donate them to the Craft Studio. Download our wish list and bring us your junk, the Craft Studio and our planet will thank you.

The Craft Studio is launching a monthly e-newsletter to keep you up to date about the many exciting things happening in the Craft Studio.
